CAD Commissions.
One-off bespoke parts and short-run components — measured, modelled, printed and delivered in days. A selection of recent commissions.
Steering Position Sensor Mount
DeliveredA Caterham track car needed an AiM Eclipse steering position sensor integrated into its data logging setup — with nothing on the column to mount it to. I designed a set of bespoke split clamps around the existing steering column and sensor body, keeping the linkage geometry true through full lock.
Printed in carbon-fibre reinforced nylon for the stiffness and under-bonnet heat resistance the job demands. Measured, modelled, printed and fitted to the car the same day.
Server Rack Cooling Duct
DeliveredA data centre client needed heat pulled from a specific area of a rack — a hot spot the room's airflow wasn't reaching. I designed a custom extraction duct that covers exactly the area specified, collecting the hot exhaust air into a standard round duct connection for removal.
Modelled to the rack's dimensions, printed in ABS for thermal stability in continuous service, and split into interlocking sections to print clean and assemble on site. Designed and delivered the next day.
ESP Presence Sensor Enclosure
In developmentA custom enclosure for ESP-based presence-sensing IoT devices — built for small-scale prototyping as part of an ongoing project exploring how homes can respond to each person in them, not just to switches and schedules.
The two-part snap-fit housing locates the PCB without fasteners, keeps the sensor face unobstructed, and is designed to print clean in quantity for rapid iteration. Part of a wider push to bring smart homes back to what they were meant to be: convenient and effortless.
